What is a biomagnetics session like?
For in-person sessions, clients relax on a practice table, clothed, while the practitioner uses muscle testing to communicate with the body. For remote sessions, clients relax in their own home while the practitioner uses a dowsing pendulum to communicate with the body. The body guides the practitioner in knowing what magnet placements are needed. The practitioner will then place small magnets at certain points on the client’s body (over the clothes,) or clients may be asked to make certain placements. Remote clients place their own magnets with the practitioner’s guidance. Clients rest for generally 15-20 minutes while the magnets do their work, then the magnets are removed and the session is complete. Total time for most follow-up sessions is about 60-75 minutes (initial appointment time is around 2-2.5 hours.) To read a more in-depth description, check out this post.
How does biomagnetics work?
Biomagnetics is most comparable to acupuncture, in that we work with both the physical body and the energy body, and that research is still ongoing to better understand how both work. Biomagnetics should therefor be regarded as a complementary method of supporting the body’s innate healing ability.
Our bodies are wonderful healing machines, and we take much of it for granted! But even our bodies have a limit to what they can do with the resources they have. We naturally accumulate the effects of stress and illness as we live, and if our bodies can’t quite keep up, we eventually overfill our wellness/sickness bucket. This is why sometimes a seemingly minor trigger sets off a cascade of symptoms: we’re seeing the effects of everything that has long been accumulating in our buckets.
Medicine and various wellness methods aim to aid the body, giving it a leg up in doing what it already does best. Imagine you break your arm and get a cast. Over a few weeks, the arm heals, but the cast doesn’t heal the body, the body heals the body. The cast helps by holding the bone in place and protecting from additional harms. The body does the heavy lifting. Biomagnetics aims to be a cast.
Biomagnetics is an exciting new opportunity for research. Click here to read a peer-reviewed pilot study on the efficacy of Biomagnetics for treating Typhoid.
Can anyone have a biomagnetics session?
Most people can. Find out more here.
How many sessions should I have?
After “how does this work?” this is the most frequently asked question. Timelines vary extensively. Some with low levels of imbalance may benefit from only 2-3 sessions. Those with chronic, complex illnesses or symptoms presentation may continue to see benefit for years as the body works through all its healing layers, though in most cases clients will begin to see improvements in the first 3 sessions. (The more complex the illness, the longer it may take to see changes.) Sessions generally start out 12-14 days apart, and as we work through more layers of imbalance they may get farther apart. It is difficult to get a precise estimate for how many sessions a client may need, but a practitioner can generally give you a very rough estimate. It is NOT required to continue with sessions if you do not feel you are benefiting. Learn about Carly’s personal journey and timeline with biomagnetics here.
Do I need to be seen in person in Oregon?
I see clients in person in my office in Bend, Oregon. I also offer remote sessions for clients who cannot make it to central Oregon.
Remote sessions utilize dowsing with a pendulum in place of muscle testing to read the body’s energy. It is my preference that remote clients acquire their own BPT-strength neodymium magnets for remote sessions. I sell magnets for this purpose at wholesale and retail rates.
If a client needs a remote appointment for a one-off session but can usually receive sessions in person, I may be able to provide a loaner set of magnets free of charge.
Do you sell BPT magnets?
Yes. Remote clients may purchase magnets for their sessions at wholesale or retail rate. Non-clients may purchase magnets at retail.
What precautions do you take regarding infectious diseases? Is anything required of me?
I take the health of my clients and myself very seriously, as I work with many very ill or immune-compromised individuals. I practice a Spread the Health Policy to help ensure a healing environment for all. Please be sure to learn more here, to make sure this policy is suitable for you.

What are the Lyme Magnetic Protocol (LMP) and Post-Covid Protocol (PCP), and how do they differ from other biomagnetism protocols?
The original biomagnetism protocol was developed by Dr. Isaac Goiz in 1988. It provides a broad and somewhat surface-level approach to supporting healing. More specific forms of biomagnetic pair therapy, the Lyme Magnetic Protocol (LMP) and the Post-Covid Protocol (PCP), were developed by Joan Randall 20-30 years later. The Lyme Magnetic Protocol was originally developed to aid the body in recovering from symptoms of Lyme disease and other common tick-borne illnesses, and has expanded to include many other imbalances. By getting deeper into the “layers” of healing, LMP can often yield better results than the original protocol by supporting the body in addressing root causes that may themselves have gone undetected or unnoticed. The Post-Covid Protocol was developed specifically to support the body in recovering from lingering symptoms following a covid-19 infection. The healing the body is able to do with the support of LMP and PCP may be deeper and longer lasting that without that deep-dive.
From what symptoms or dis-eases might healing be best supported by biomagnetic pair therapy?
Symptoms of Long Covid, Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses, mold sensitivity and toxicity, mosquito and other insect-borne diseases, Epstein Barr Virus, autoimmunity, digestive dysfunction, environmental allergies, parasites, fungal infections, hormonal imbalances, and heavy metal toxicity are all commonly seen imbalances that may benefit from the added support of biomagnetic pair therapy. Biomagnetics works best by supporting what the immune system can do, providing that extra boost that may be missing, and by directing the body’s energetic flow in an optimal manner. It is not a magic bullet for things that are beyond the immune system’s capability. Take this real life example:
I have a Haglund’s deformity: a common bone deformation involving a thickening of the heel bone. While the deformity itself is painless, the extra bone pinches the bursa beneath it and strains the achilles tendon running over it. My bursa gets very inflamed after intense exercise. Biomagnetics placements help my body bring down inflammation in the bursa, but do nothing to change the underlying structural problem. That is beyond the reach of my immune system, and therefor beyond what biomagnetics can support.
Though biomagnetics has been developed in a variety of directions to support healing as broadly as possible, it is not a magic solution. If you’re not sure whether biomagnetics may be of benefit for you, request a free consultation.
